Terms & Conditions for High-Risk Treatments

Safety is of utmost importance to us, however all procedures come with risks and possible downtime. We will discuss all aspects of the treatment during your consultation.

1. Bookings & Deposits

  • A patch test or consultation may be required at least 48 hours before treatment. 

2. Health & Medical Disclosure

  • Clients must provide full and accurate details of their medical history, allergies, skin conditions, medications, and any recent treatments or surgeries.
  • The salon reserves the right to refuse or postpone treatment if there are contraindications or safety concerns.
  • Failure to disclose relevant medical information may result in adverse outcomes, for which the salon cannot be held liable.

4. Aftercare & Client Responsibility

  • Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided. Clients are responsible for following these strictly.
  • The salon is not liable for complications or side effects arising from failure to follow aftercare advice.
  • Clients should avoid sun exposure, heat treatments (saunas, steam rooms), swimming, or use of active skincare (e.g., retinol, acids) for the recommended time period post-treatment.

6. Payments & Refunds

  • Full payment is due on the day of treatment.
  • Refunds are not provided for completed treatments.
  • If a client experiences an adverse reaction, corrective treatment may be offered at the salon’s discretion.

7. Age Restrictions

  • High-risk treatments are only available to clients aged 18 years and over.
  • Proof of age may be required.

8. Privacy & Records

  • All consultation forms, medical disclosures, and treatment notes are kept strictly confidential in compliance with privacy laws.
  • Clients’ data will only be used for treatment and safety purposes.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • While every precaution is taken to ensure safe practice, the salon cannot guarantee specific results.
  • By signing the consent form, clients accept the risks associated with high-risk treatments.

10. Education and Information about peels:

Chemical peeling involves the application of a solution to the skin’s surface to remove part of the outer layer of the skin, stimulate growth of new skin and reduce skin congestion, resulting in improved skin refinement.

Benefits of regular peels:

  • Regular peels may improve the freshness, smoothness and colour of the complexion
  • Improves congestion and blocked pores
  • Improves the texture of the skin
  • Can improve superficial scarring and irregular pigmentation
  • Beneficial for the face, neck, hands and décolletage

Peels will not improve the following conditions:

  • Deep lines
  • Deep acne scarring
  • Broken capillaries

Risks and complications with superficial peels are rare however complications can occur in certain situations. Please advise the technician if any of the following apply to you treatment may be contraindicated:

  •  Prone to cold sores or have had a recent cold sore
  •  Allergic to asprin or salicylic acid
  •  Use the medication Roaccutane, for acne
  •  Medication - Warfarin
  •  Steroids
  •  Have had complications with peels performed elsewhere
  •  Use products containing Retinol or Retin A in the last 2 weeks
  •  Active eczema or dermatitis
  •  Chemotherapy
  •  Have had recent facial surgery
  •  Recent sunburn
  • unprotected sun exposure (including tanning beds and fake tan creams) in the last 4 weeks.
  • mechanical epilation, waxed or tweezed in the treatment area.
  • A history of seizures and I have disclosed all known allergies (e.g. Latex, etc).
  • Medications causing photosensitivity (prescription/non-prescription) eg. Antidepressants, St John’s Wort, Anti-coagulants, etc.

  • A history of keloid & hypertrophic scar formation.
  • active infections/Immunosuppression.
  • Open lesions in the areas to be treated.
  • Herpes I or II – in the areas to be treated.
  • Laser Resurfacing within the last 6 months.
  • A Chemical Peel – within the last 4 weeks.
  •  Oral isotretinoin/Accutane – within the last 6 months.
  • Diabetes.
  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding and not taking any medication, which may affect treatment outcomes.

It is essential to prepare your skin for a period of two weeks with a Tyrosinase inhibitor prior to application of a peel. It is normal to experience a strong tingling sensation on peel application, which can last for up to 10 minutes. Immediately after peel application, the skin may appear pink and feel tight. Notify the technician if burning or discomfort is felt. Visible peeling, if it occurs, is usually complete in 5 to 7 days. Peels are not recommended for 7 to 10 days before an important social engagement.
